A big thank you to the 150 higher education leaders and practitioners who joined us for our #StudentSuccess convening held at Rowan University in collaboration with Complete College America. The day provided an important opportunity for professionals representing 45 institutions all across New Jersey to come together, strategize, hear stories from students, and get energized about the work ahead to keep strengthening pathways to degree completion. Here's what we heard: 📊Use data to guide decisions. Practitioners are encouraged to use data to drive decision-making, identify gaps, and measure the impact of interventions on student success. 🌎Prioritize equity and inclusion in academic planning and policy implementation. This means creating targeted and customized supports for all student groups to ensure they have the opportunity to succeed, from first-time enrollers to returners and more. 🚀Scale high-impact practices that boost student engagement and completion rates. This includes initiatives like first-year experience programs, learning communities, and comprehensive advising systems. 🤝Build and strengthen partnerships across education and industry. They are essential for creating seamless pathways that support students from enrollment to graduation and into the workforce. 🛡️Implement strategies that build resilience. Institutions need resilient structures and processes to ensure that reforms and policy changes continue to have a lasting impact over time.
