Congratulations to the City of Calipatria and Comite Civico Del Valle, Inc. on the installation of new EV fast chargers in the Imperial Valley. CCV is the first community-based organization to meet all the requirements of the state’s CALeVIP Golden State Priority Project to help fund EV infrastructure. The project is administered by Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE). CCV Executive Director Luis Olmedo: “We are committed to making sure that rural and underserved communities are not left behind in the transition to electric vehicles.” California Energy Commission's Patricia Monahan: “Our hope is that greater access to EV chargers like these will encourage more EV adoption in the Valley, saving drivers money on fuel and maintenance costs while helping clean the air.”

A fantastic opening event with incredible attendance in #Calipatria yesterday. A tremendous effort by our network partner Comite Civico Del Valle, Inc. deploying another 4 high power DC fast chargers on the EV Range Charging Network in the Imperial Valley. “Lawsuit could block massive lithium project near Salton Sea” If the company had properly addressed the community’s concerns, conducted required Tribal consultations, or simply waited a few months for the County’s programmatic EIR process to unfold—rather than sneaking in their groundbreaking by piecemealing partial project approvals without mitigating cumulative impacts—then they might not be in this situation.
