Electric and gas utilities with strong brand appeal not only boost customer satisfaction but also earn higher trust and advocacy. Utilities leading in brand engagement see a 200 point increase in customer satisfaction on a 1,000-point scale. High brand appeal supports rate increases and enhances financial management perceptions. Columbia Gas of Virginia is proud to have teamed up with the Urban League of Greater Richmond to host the inaugural Energy Youth Ambassador program. The program provides Virginia high school students with a chance to learn first-hand about the natural gas industry. The majority of the participating students are from Hopewell and Petersburg. The students also benefit from the program in other ways. They get insight into various career opportunities with Columbia Gas and the knowledge they need to be successful ambassadors, especially when it comes to sharing important information with the local communities on topics such as our energy efficiency and assistance programs as well as the value of natural gas.
