Congratulations to our Executive Director Mary Zanotti, who was appointed by the Governor to The Tony Grampsas Youth Services (TGYS) Board. In partnership with other local leaders, Mary will support efforts to fund intervention programs for children, youth, and their families across Colorado. Mary has been a tireless advocate for youth and families her entire career, and we’re excited that her unique perspective and innovative thinking will support this great program. #Community #Leadership

About us
Colorado Youth for a Change addresses barriers to learning by providing individualized supports throughout pivotal stages of students' education journeys. We envision an equitable education system where each student has access to the resources they need to maximize their own learning and growth. CYC is a recognized leader in prevention and student reengagement programming, providing children and youth with one-on-one tutoring, evidence-based interventions, case management, and wraparound support services. CYC partners with school districts across the state, filling gaps in resources and providing one-on-one student support.

Tickets and tables are now available! Join us September 19th for CYC’s Back to School Night event at Mile High Station. Together we’ll lift up the power of partnerships in our community and celebrate all the ways we are stronger together. We’re excited to honor Jim Toft and Nubia M. as our 2024 Community Changemakers. Their partnership in life, community, and philanthropy has impacted thousands of children across Colorado – including many at CYC. Both grew up in Colorado and have a passion for supporting young people in building skills, community, and a sense of belonging. https://lnkd.in/gkFGspNV

Awesome video about national service and its impact on our members and our students!
As the child of immigrants from South America, Nelly Grosso had to navigate the education system largely alone. That challenging experience inspired her to serve as an AmeriCorps member through Serve Colorado with Colorado Youth for a Change. For the past two years, Nelly has been a peer mentor for first-generation high school students in Denver, providing resources and support to help them better navigate school and prepare for life after graduation. Nelly’s service underscores the transformative power of national service, and spotlights how these experiences not only help young people build valuable skills but also meet crucial community needs.

Our Denver Opportunity Youth Initiative got to start the day at Denver's Urban Farm with goats, sheep, horses, and all sorts of gardens. We loved learning about their partnership with the HYPE vocational program where young people can "earn while they learn." We'd definitely recommend this field trip and appreciate partnerships like this!

Many of the students we support each year have been impacted by the justice system. This can make the journey toward a high school diploma and post-secondary both challenging and discouraging. We're encouraged by the new bill aimed to reduce barriers for young people trying to finish school and appreciate the alignment with our value of systemic transformation. Colorado Public Radio

Dinsmore & Shohl collected math games and notes of encouragement for 43 Math Corps students in Thornton! Dinsmore & Shohl have been a longtime partner of CYC and we are so grateful for their support!
The Firm’s Denver office supports the Colorado Youth for a Change (CYC) in its mission to help students build confidence and find success in school and beyond. CYC was established nearly 20 years ago in response to the thousands of students dropping out of Colorado schools each year. Since that time, CYC has evolved to provide prevention and reengagement programs that span ages 3-21 and serve over 6,000 Colorado students every year. This year, Dinsmore’s Denver office brought math games to engage 43 students in the STEM Launch program in Thornton, Colorado. Each of the items included notes of encouragement to each student receiving a game.
