Congratulations to University of Colorado Boulder for earning $20M in federal funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to construct the National Quantum Nanofab (NQN). 🔬 The NQN will work to bridge the gap between quantum discoveries happening in laboratories across the country and more practical applications of this transformative technology, including the construction of computers, clocks, navigation tools, optical networks, and more. Habitat for Humanity’s Hope Springs development project in Greeley is addressing the area’s housing shortage by creating a community that contains 174 homes and 320 mixed-rate apartments. 🏠 Alquist 3D is supporting this project by building homes using their 3D concrete printing (3DCP) technology — a robotic arm that distributes thin layers of concrete. The manufacturer recently moved their headquarters to Greeley, thanks in part to the Colorado Economic Development Commission’s Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit program. Their efforts to create lower-cost housing and infrastructure serve as a great example of the amazing ways modular housing can help address our state’s housing shortage. Across the Mountain West, over 19,000 jobs support the quantum industry. Nearly half of the jobs in quantum do not require an advanced degree, and the need for technician positions is projected to double in five years. Quantum companies need employees in the skilled trades like welding, pipe fitting and machining. The discoveries in quantum labs generated the new companies that harbor job growth right now, and into the future. #ElevateQuantum #Quantum #QuantumTuesday #ChooseColorado

"America is serious about being a global leader in quantum technology, the future of computing. Colorado is the center of the quantum technology ecosystem and we are thrilled that the Biden Administration is supporting our work to develop the best minds, research, and innovation in the country. Our region has always played a critical role in advanced technology and we’re proud to be supporting these efforts through a state investment of $74 million that was conditional on this federal award and will now be activated. I want to thank Senator Michael Bennet and John W. Hickenlooper and Congressman Joe Neguse for their hard work in helping bring these funds to Colorado. This federal and state investment will accelerate our work and help ensure the future of computing is developed and built right here in Colorado." - Governor Polis https://lnkd.in/gxPr24NX

Colorado Creative Districts serve as a focal point for celebrating a community’s unique identity by showcasing cultural and artistic organizations and events. 🎨 In 2022, the Colorado Creative Industries division of OEDIT named Gunnison as a creative district and the team behind the district has been hard at work transforming their rural town. Along with promoting public art, boasting First Friday Art Walks, and creating a valley-wide creative directory, the team is collaborating with local artists to bring to life murals that represent the people and happenings in the Gunnison Valley.
