Applications are now open for the Center for Asian American Media’s Building Bridges Documentary Fund, an initiative which will provide critical financial support, resources, and mentorship to filmmakers working on projects related to the Muslim experience in the U.S. Funded by the Doris Duke Foundation, the fund is designed to support and elevate the voices of Muslim filmmakers across the United States, promoting a deeper understanding of the Muslim experience through the powerful medium of documentary film. Eligible projects can be at any stage of production, from development to post-production. Selected projects will be announced in fall 2024, with grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Applications are open now through June 17, 2024. Latino Public Broadcasting is accepting applications to the Digital Media Fund (DMF) until June 26. The DMF offers up to $30K in funding for short-form programs (no longer than 15 minutes) for primary exclusive distribution online via an existing public television platform. Latino Public Broadcasting’s 2024 LPB Funding Cycle is open and they’re accepting applications for both of their funding initiatives: the Public Media Content Fund (PMCF) and the Digital Media Fund (DMF). They are looking to fund a wide variety of projects that celebrate and reflect the diverse Latino experience and bring new audiences to public media. Projects can be long form documentaries for the Public Media Content Fund and short form nonfiction or fiction for the Digital Media Fund. Projects applying can be in the genres of the arts, history, science, biography, health, personal storytelling, current events, social issues, and mixed genre.
