Our renovation at Senior Wellness is coming along nicely! Today, our Cobb County Property Management team were putting together some new shelving for the Art Studio and we got some new furniture for the lobby. We are so excited to see it all come together.

Cobb County Senior Services and First Christian Church of Mableton teamed up for a Free Food Giveaway in honor of Older Americans Month. The community drive-thru event exceeded expectations, providing essential groceries to 300 households. These boxes, brimming with fresh produce, meat, and pantry staples, offered a helping hand to local seniors and families. The spirit of community truly shone during the event. Wellstar joined forces, distributing informative bags with recipes, mental health resources, and heart health tips. Highlighting the event's collaborative spirit, two ladies who initially came to receive food boxes saw the need and selflessly volunteered to help distribute boxes to others! This outpouring of support exemplifies the strength and compassion within Cobb County.

Our crew had a great time at the National Council on Aging conference in Washington DC! The conference gave them an opportunity to learn about innovative programs and network with others in the field of aging. We are excited to see what kinds of new ideas these ladies come back with!

This Older Americans Month, we're celebrating the power of connection! Our very own Chairwoman Lisa Cupid joined Senior Services for a special tour to see how we're making a difference in the lives of Cobb County seniors. Chairwoman Cupid got a firsthand look at our activities and services, from delivering meals to meeting with staff. She even joined an exercise class (impressive moves in heels, by the way!). It was a fantastic opportunity to connect and showcase our dedication to improving the well-being of our community's older adults.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Cobb County Senior Services Annual Expo and Marketplace! We're thrilled to announce that this year's event saw an incredible turnout, with over 1300 participants exploring valuable resources and connecting with knowledgeable vendors. Your participation made it a resounding success, and we're grateful for your support in making our community event such a hit.

This week, we celebrated our incredible team at our Quarter Employee Awards. We recognized individuals and teams who go above and beyond to make a positive impact on the lives of Cobb County seniors. From creative program development to exceptional customer service and inspiring leadership, these employees are true stars! We also couldn't forget to celebrate some major employee anniversaries! A huge shoutout to Travis Byrum from West Cobb Senior Center for reaching an incredible 30 years with Cobb County! Here's to many more years of serving our community together.
