🌟 Welcoming Our New Summer Interns: Monica and Nereida! 🌟 Monica joins us from Barnard College of Columbia University, where she is majoring in Environment & Sustainability with a minor in Economics. Monica chose Cobalt Water Global because of our commitment to innovative environmental solutions and our dedication to positively impacting communities worldwide. Being selected as a Social Enterprise Summer Fellow by the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise of Columbia Business School for her internship at Cobalt this summer. Monica is excited to apply her academic knowledge and passion for sustainability to real-world projects and contribute to our mission, Monica’s enthusiasm, academic background, and unique perspective will be valuable to our team. Fun Fact: Monica is a big fan of the Phoenix Suns! Nereida joins us from Fordham University, where she is majoring in Computer Science. Nereida chose Cobalt Water Global because of our cutting-edge AI/ML platform, N2ORisk DSS, which is dedicated to helping water utilities and industries account for, reduce, and monitor their wastewater N2O process emissions. She is eager to gain hands-on experience in software engineering and data science while contributing to innovative environmental solutions that make a tangible impact on the world. Her technical acumen and distinct perspective will be a meaningful asset to our team. Fun Fact: Nereida is a big fan of The Big Bang Theory!

We are thrilled to announce our newest member of the Cobalt Water Global team… Dr. Yuge Qiu. Dr. Qiu recently completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath, researching climate change adaptation and mitigation in urban water treatment systems - numerical modeling of aeration and greenhouse gas emission. She also holds a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering. Through her PhD research, Yuge has become an expert in mechanistic modeling of N2O emissions from wastewater treatment plants and mass transfer of N2O from liquid to gas phase. As one of our Research Engineers, she will now be able to apply this modeling and N2O knowledge with AI and machine learning and help keep advancing our technology through practice and R&D. We are also thrilled to keep adding top N2O talent to our team of top N2O domain experts to help back the top N2O solution. When there is any wastewater N2O need, there should be no doubt about where to go, and Yuge will be instrumental in making this clear. #climateactionnow #N2O #CobaltWaterGlobal

We are thrilled to announce our latest addition to the Cobalt Water Global team… Dr. Mostafa Khalil, Ph.D. Mostafa recently completed a PhD at the University of Alberta, researching machine learning of N2O emissions from wastewater treatment plants, which is what we do everyday. Therefore, Mostafa will be an invaluable resource and help us continue building the team with the top N2O talent. To have the No. 1 N2O platform you need top talent backing it up, so we are continuously grooming and recruiting top N2O talent.   Dr. Khalil also has over 10 years working in the water industry modelling both drinking water and wastewater systems. He also holds MS and BS degrees in Environmental Engineering and is also currently a Postdoctoral Research fellow with the Modeleau research group at Université Laval. He is joining the team as a research engineer helping us to continue advancing what we can do with ML for assessing, reducing and monitoring wastewater N2O process emissions, as much as possible and as fast as possible. Welcome to the team Mostafa! #WeCanStopN2OEmissions #Climateactionnow

Happy World Water Day and World Water Day Weekend! #WorldWaterDay is a critically important occasion. For us who never have to think about where we will get our water, who will fetch it, and who in our family will get sick from drinking it, it is an opportunity to acknowledge the water crisis and do something to help solve it. For us who make a living from water, it is an opportunity to give back for water. That is why whether it is world water day, #climateweeknyc or our #nycwaterandclimate event we make sure to raise money for organizations like Water For People and Water.org. Wrapping up the week with International Women's Day and getting to honor the women comprising part of the Cobalt Water Global team. Collectively, they represent USA, Belgium, and China. Truly international, but more importantly they are each inspiring our company, climate tech, and water to be inclusive because if we as a company were not 100% inclusive and 100% equal pay for every role, we would be missing out on their amazing capabilities, and the world would have less climate impact. So here is to Julia Porro, Veerle Bultinck, and Monica Wu for inspiring us and helping us to keep driving our impact. We also want to wish all a very happy #internationalwomensday2024 !
