Hey there, Nature fans! 👋 Poking our head in to share that Polar Bears International alongside 3M launched an innovative device to track polar bears that will fill gaps in scientists' knowledge of their behavior and movement 🐻 The new GPS stick-on fur tags were designed to have a minimal impact on these animals. They’re non-toxic, not damaging the skin and are resistant to extreme weather conditions ❄ With last month being the hottest June on record - and also marking the 12th month in a row that the world was 1.5°C warmer than pre-industrial times, the Arctic is now melting four times faster 🌡 Polar bears are highly endangered and face becoming extinct. We welcome this breakthrough innovation that will aid global efforts to conserve them—and the sea ice they depend on 🤗 #Sustainability #NatureBasedSolutions #Conservation #ESG #Environment

Leading tech companies are urging data center suppliers to be more transparent about their Scope 3 (indirect) emissions disclosures to reduce the industry's carbon footprint. As the number of internet users has increased in the past decade and the need for data centers has grown, specifically for AI services, tech giants are already working on implementing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for data centers to enhance transparency on their carbon footprint. The big challenge now is tackling Scope 3 emissions, which account for 38-69% of a data center's total carbon footprint, as they push towards net-zero goals. According to Reuters, California is taking legal action against major oil companies, aiming to reclaim profits made while allegedly deceiving consumers about their role in climate change. This follows a new state law allowing the attorney general to seek profits earned through unfair competition and false advertising. The suit, filed in San Francisco, claims these companies have caused tens of billions in damages and accuses them of a decades-long climate deception campaign, involving greenwashing and misleading public statements about the impact of fossil fuels.
