🚧We're proud to highlight the outstanding work of our City Engineer, Laura Neumann PE & PP, and her team on the revitalization of Long Branch Avenue in Monmouth County. This extensive project tackled critical flooding and safety issues, dramatically improving the infrastructure of this highly traveled roadway. Laura's innovative design included a unique stormwater management system with three parallel concrete pipes to manage stormwater, significantly reducing flooding. The project also involved resurfacing the pavement, replacing deteriorated sidewalks with ADA-compliant ones, and updating intersections for enhanced safety. Pedestrian crosswalks and shared bike lanes were installed to meet the latest MUTCD and AASHTO standards. Thanks to Laura and her team, CME Associates secured a $371,331 NJDOT Municipal Aid Grant to fund the construction. Despite challenges like utility relocations and coordinating with city officials to minimize disruption, the project was completed successfully in Spring 2023. This project exemplifies the expertise and dedication of our women engineers at CME. Their efforts have not only restored safety for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists but have also transformed a key part of Long Branch into a safer and more resilient community asset. Recognizing the need for expanded recreational facilities, the Manalapan Township Committee and Recreation Advisors initiated this project to provide fun and engaging amenities for the community. The sports-themed splash park, complete with spraying soccer balls, basketballs, and water cannons, offers endless summer fun for kids and families. With a durable, colorful rubber surface and shaded benches for onlookers, it’s a perfect spot to beat the heat.
