Look behind the scenes at where we're building our SPARC fusion energy device, see our recent construction progress, and understand the key aspects of each section of the facility. ✔️ Operations Building: Generates data critical to optimize our SPARC tokamak and plan its successor, the ARC fusion power plant that'll generate fusion energy for the electrical grid. ✔️ RF Building: Houses equipment that will use radio frequency waves to heat the plasma inside SPARC. This  building also houses the Assembly Hall, where all the SPARC components will arrive. ✔️ Tokamak Hall: The home of our SPARC fusion energy device. A life-size illustration of the tokamak is on the wall. ✔️ Utility Building: An industrial space to handle fusion heat from SPARC. Calling all AI builders - we're teaming up with OpenAI and Crusoe to host Hacking for Clean Energy, an AI hackathon focused on accelerating the scale up of renewable energy. Mark your calendars for June 28-29 in San Francisco. Thousands of clean energy projects are bogged down by permitting, paperwork, and process. AI and software hold the key to unblocking these bottlenecks. We'll be accepting 100 AI engineers, designers, and product leaders to develop novel AI-powered solutions that can do just that. Want to hear straight from the source on the issues? We've confirmed speakers from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), who will be hosting a public discussion on the problems in the space. Several experts from the national labs will also be joining us to share the latest on a new AI data corpus. Thanks to Crusoe, we'll be awarding $3K in cash to the winning team, who will have a chance to share their project to top venture capitalists, engineering leaders, journalists, and a visiting congressional delegation. Isometric today announced the addition of two luminaries in the carbon dioxide removal (CDR) industry to our Science Leadership Team. Dr. Jennifer Wilcox is joining as Chief Scientist and Stacy Kauk, P.Eng. is joining as Head of Science. Jen brings world leading scientific expertise and Stacy brings experience catalyzing and operationalizing the CDR market. This leadership structure will ensure Isometric continues to be trusted as the market leading, scientifically rigorous registry. Stacy is a well known leader in CDR. She was most recently the Head of Sustainability at Shopify, where she was responsible for building Shopify’s CDR portfolio and was a founding member of Frontier. Her work has been catalytic to the industry. Dr. Jennifer Wilcox was most recently the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and is the Presidential Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering and Energy Policy at the University of Pennsylvania. She has written and edited category defining books on CDR (Carbon Capture, published in 2012, and CDR Primer, 2021) and is a leading voice in the scientific community. We are thrilled to welcome Jen and Stacy to Isometric’s Leadership team.
