An estimated 82 clean energy projects in Wisconsin could be eligible for a combined $18 billion in labor-related tax incentives from the Inflation Reduction Act. The 82 utility-scale clean energy projects identified in Wisconsin — either planned, being built or recently completed — account for an estimated 42,000 jobs and 11,833 megawatts of power. CECW partner organization Clean Wisconsin emphasized how the IRA and other federal investments have helped the clean energy industry in Wisconsin flourish.

President Biden visited Wisconsin on Thursday and announced Wisconsin-based Dairyland Power Cooperative will receive $573 million in funding, a grant combined with a loan, to increase its supply of solar and wind power. Dairyland is one of 16 rural energy co-ops serving 23 states that will participate in the $7.3 billion Empowering Rural America (New ERA) program operated through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. CECW partner organizations Clean Wisconsin, Green Homeowners United, and RENEW Wisconsin commented on how federal funding has paved the way for a greater clean energy industry in Wisconsin.
