This week, for the second year in a row, we welcomed a group of students from The Boys and Girls Club of Brockton, Massachusetts to our corporate office south of Boston. They heard from Co-CEO Michael Battles, along with other leaders and employees to learn about different career paths within the company. We had a great time with these students and hope to one day see them in one of our offices, in the field, or behind the wheel! Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South

We had a great time last week at the Battelle 2024 Chlorinated Conference in Denver. In addition to talking to attendees about our “Total PFAS Solution,” where we offer services ranging from analysis to remediation and disposal, our Director of Remediation Patricia Reyes (third from the left in the second photo) was part of a panel discussion about the state of PFAS over the next five years. We think we’ve got the future covered with our PFAS offerings. Learn more about them here: https://lnkd.in/enJAN6nz #sustainABILITY

College interns from across the country will be spending the next several weeks at Clean Harbors locations.    Interns will learn at various job sites through practical, hands-on training and will be mentored by highly skilled and experienced supervisors throughout the company.   Roughly 70 students – representing 54 colleges and universities – have been selected for summer internships. The roles which they will study under include lab technicians, field inspectors, engineers, facilities managers, CleanPack chemists, communications specialists, and more.   All lines of business are participating in the internship program this year. In total, the number of interns is nearly double the total from the previous summer.   We look forward to tracking the progress of our interns throughout the summer and reporting back on their exciting experiences.

Earlier this month a major storm caused significant flooding in and around Conroe, Texas just north of Houston. With residents being evacuated and not knowing the status of their homes, HPC Industrial drone team member and local resident Chris Folkman did what he could to help his fellow citizens, posting timely drone footage of the impacted areas to a local online forum. It gave people a glimpse of the damage and allowed them to feel connected during the stressful time. HPC team members don’t just perform their duties on behalf of the company and clients; they are members of their local communities and use their knowledge and abilities to help others in their own unique and special ways. Hats off to Chris for using his skills for such a good cause!

UAS & Robotics Pilot Committed to Customer Success

Today, despite being confined to my neighborhood by flooding, I found a way to contribute positively. Equipped with my drone, I volunteered my time to capture aerial footage for individuals & families forced to evacuate their homes. As I maneuvered the drone through the skies, I realized the impact these visuals could have. For those displaced, uncertain about the fate of their homes, these images provided a lifeline—a way to stay informed amidst chaos. In times of crisis, it's easy to feel helpless, but today I discovered that even the smallest acts of service can bring hope. By leveraging technology, I was able to offer a glimpse of reassurance to those in need. Let's continue to find ways to support each other, even when circumstances seem overwhelming. Together, we can navigate through any storm. Chris' Compassionate Quest #community #service #volunteer #drones #dronepilot

We are excited to support Castrol’s official launch of its MoreCircular program at the #ACTexpo in Las Vegas this week. Clean Harbors, through its Safety-Kleen subsidiary, is collaborating with Castrol on this nationwide offering. The end-to-end program begins with the collection of used oil from Castrol’s business customers by Safety-Kleen, which are then re-refined into a base oil at Safety-Kleen’s network of re-refineries. Castrol then integrates the re-refined base oil into premium lubricants with a lower carbon footprint that it delivers to customers under its MoreCircular program. The closed-loop offering represents a commitment by Castrol, with the support of Safety-Kleen, to help its customers decarbonize their operations and meet their sustainable goals. Over 40 state-of-the-art robotic cleaning systems from Ecorobotics have been added to HPC Industrial’s fleet. These robots will eliminate the vast majority of the highly dangerous confined space entry time that would otherwise be completed by staff in the field. They can also complete large cleaning projects faster and more efficiently than conventional crews, reducing water or cutter stock consumption, waste management, and disposal costs. This is just one of the many ways Clean Harbors and HPC Industrial are utilizing advanced technologies to keep our people safe and get the job done right!
