Honored to have the Civic Center Conservancy recognized as a Partner in Philanthropy this week by the Denver Business Journal. This award is special because it speaks to the how of our work - we are very intentional about working in partnership and in collaboration. Our impact happens because we choose to work WITH the community, WITH our funders, WITH the City. Big kudos to the Conservancy team: Sara Leitch, Eric Raya Steinbeiss, Murphy Hogan, Allison Galgiani. It was great to be in a room with so many friends and partners who were also honored such as Kayla Garcia, Jeremy Bronson, Beverly Razon, Meredith Hintze, Lexi Muller, Amanda Blaurock, Sarah Hogan, Cori Streetman, Jayme Ritchie, Maureen McDonald, and Nicole D.. It felt extra special to receive the award from Lindy Eichenbaum Lent who leads the fabulous Rose Community Foundation and 13 years ago took a chance on a sports guy to work in Civic Center.

Our volunteers were hard at work this past Tuesday, helping out at Denver's historic Civic Center Park. They weeded all of the central promenade beds, filling up eight bins. It was our pleasure to help the Civic Center Conservancy in their mission to keep the park clean and active for the public to enjoy! #volunteer #giveback #energystrong

What a great day with SPARKLES presenting sponsor Xcel Energy in the Park! This amazing crew pulled barrels and barrels of weeds to keep Civic Center green and beautiful so that we can all enjoy it. And Conservancy Executive Director Eric Lazzari, Development Director Sara Leitch, and Board Member Grace Lopez Ramirez got to host today! Excited for the Civic Center Conservancy to be recognized as a #PartnersinPhilanthropy winner by the Denver Business Journal! Excited to see many partners and collaborators on nonprofit and corporate lists.

A few weeks ago, we set a 528-foot table in Civic Center Park with Civic Center Conservancy and Southwest Airlines (and many other generous partners!) Among the 500 guests, we welcomed Omer and his wife, two tourists from North Carolina. Their first time visiting the Mile High City, they stumbled upon us as we setup this ridiculously long table. We invited them to join us for dinner, and they did! A few days after returning home to North Carolina, Omer posted a thank you on Facebook... "Thank you, Denver, for an amazing experience." Omer didn't thank Tim. Or our non-profit. He addressed our city. He went on to thank our city for being hospitable, kind and inclusive. And this is half the reason we set long tables. Not only to connect us, but to become a place where we are known for our connection and hospitality. Because a lonely and isolated world is wondering how we might find our way back to #connection, #hope, #belonging and feeling like the world is for us. The Mile High City can be that place!
