The weather was in our favor this week as we celebrated our employees with an Employee Appreciation Food Truck Fiesta! This year's theme celebrated the art and culture of the Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Staff were treated to delicious food with Columbian, Argentinian and Mexican flavor. While they enjoyed their lunch with fellow co-workers at our Mesa Arts Center, they were also entertained with live Latin music and Día de los Muertos art and décor. We appreciate the hard work of our staff and were happy that we could provide this fun, festive celebration. THANK YOU for all you do! #TheMesaWay

The tragedy of domestic violence struck close to home for us this past year. We lost Anna Chavez, a loving mother, Nana, sister, daughter, aunt, friend and colleague who worked at the Mesa Municipal Court for over 7 years. She passed earlier this year as a result of intimate partner homicide. Her family is sharing their mother's story in hopes of saving other domestic violence victims. “We want to provide any awareness and make a difference, even if its just one person. I know my mom would have wanted us to share her story," said her daughter Alayna. During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we hold a candle in her memory, and in memory of all those lost to domestic violence. You helped us break a record! Thank you to all the businesses that contributed to our #MesaHydrationDonation campaign this year. We raised over a million bottles of water for those in need during the summer, smashing our our goal of 700,000. We appreciate the help from the Mesa Chamber of Commerce for their crucial role in our success!
