One of the great programs the Parma Heights Police Department offers is the "Are You Okay?" Thanks to Mike Holden for featuring on WEWS NewsChannel 5 - Cleveland/Akron/Canton. Only seniors, shut-ins and disabled persons who reside in the City of Parma Heights are eligible to participate. The program is totally free and confidential. The "Are You Okay?" program uses a computer that calls at a specified time each day. https://lnkd.in/e88t6hy3

Thanks to the Cleveland Guardians for hosting the City of Parma Heights Youth Baseball programs. I was honored to throw out the first pitch - it was a change-up! The youth baseball players enjoyed parading the outfield of Progressive Field. It was a fun night at the ballpark!

Today was full circle - I had the honor of swearing in Katelyn Romanowski to the Parma Heights Police Department. Along with Chief Czack, we welcome Katelyn to the City of Parma Heights. Katelyn will be attending the Cleveland Heights Police Academy from July to December. She is the first female hired since Chief Czack was sworn in as an officer in 1999.

Thank you to the Parma City School District for inviting me to the Senior Citizens Prom! 💕 The students and staff did a great job making this a special evening for our seniors. Thank you to the City of Parma Heights Senior Center Administrator, Trish James, and her staff for your help with this event. You guys rock! 😃

Before the storms rolled in this afternoon, we were proud to officially open Nathan Hale Park in the City of Parma Heights. This six-acre basin reduces flood risk to 400 homes in the Heights and looks amazing doing it. It is always great working with our partners. Special thanks to Mayor Marie Gallo, The City of Parma, OH Mayor Timothy J. DeGeeter, Congressman Max Miller, County Executive of Cuyahoga County Chris Ronayne, State Representative Sean Patrick Brennan and Parma Heights City Council.

For the past 13 months the crews have been working on the Nathan Hale Retention Basin project. We're excited to host local elected officials and community partners for the official Nathan Hale Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, April 17 at 2pm. Nathan Hale Park features a six-acre retention basin, a walking path, gazebo, soccer fields, a children’s play area, pavilion and updated restrooms. The basin has been sized to provide storage for 11 million gallons of stormwater designed to be slowly released back into the city’s storm system over an extended period of time. This project is part of a Master Plan created by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District to help alleviate basement flooding for residents. Nathan Hale Park located at 7075 Parma Park Blvd.

Great news for our city! Restoration of our urban tree canopy enhances air quality, temperature control, biodiversity, stormwater management and green space for our community. We are beyond grateful for this grant award!
