The City of Allen and the Town of Fairview celebrate the official opening of the Ridgeview/US-75 Overpass, just completed by the Texas Department of Transportation! Now fully open, the overpass and the Ridgeview Drive extension between US-75 and Chelsea Boulevard provide a new connection to the highway, offering alternate routes for residents and businesses. Drivers should note that Ridgeview Drive is still closed east of US-75 into the Town of Fairview, awaiting the completion of Fairview Parkway. That connection will be an excellent linkage between the two communities, supporting growth and development on both sides of US-75, and making travel more convenient for everyone!

This summer, a local family, the Coltmans, recently bid farewell to their beloved waste collection driver, Alejandro Muro, whom they have known for 12 years. It all started with their first child's fascination with the heavy-duty truck driven by city-contracted CWD driver Alejandro. Throughout the years, the family has made it a point to greet Alejandro and occasionally give him gifts during his route. As the family moved to be closer to relatives in Denison, we captured their heartfelt sendoff with Alejandro. Chris and the boys presented Alejandro with a keepsake book of letters they wrote to him bound with photos Chris took of their collection-day visits over the years. The Coltman family's farewell to Alejandro is a reminder of the lasting connections that can be formed through everyday interactions, turning simple moments into cherished memories that span years.
