Last week I visited the Cipla Health Ltd office and couldn’t help but feel proud at how far we’ve come. Envisioned as the FMWG (fast-moving wellness goods) arm of Cipla, CHL has grown leaps and bounds, addressing the everyday health needs of consumers. Fast-paced growth, coupled with market-leading brands in the #wellness space and a vibrant culture sets it apart to lead our wellness agenda that aims to optimize consumer health. Last week I was at the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance's 9th Global Pharmaceutical Quality Summit 2024 with industry peers Prasad G V, Nilesh Gupta, Dilip Shanghvi, Pankaj Patel for a panel discussion on ‘Blueprinting for the Future: Charting out the Next Decade of Pharma Quality & Operations’ moderated by Sathya Prathipati.   One of the topics that came up was the impact of #GenerativeAI on business that’s caused significant disruption across sectors. While we’re still devising newer ways to harness the advantages of this #technology, two key points stand out for me:   1. Mindset change is key: We need to learn how to co-exist with tech. If you present Gen AI to your organization as something that replaces jobs, it may not bode well. You have to pitch it as an enabler that would make people more proficient in their roles. Mindset is everything. 2. Smarter the input, better the output: There are a lot of interesting Gen AI tools available today and there's a tendency to think it will provide you with key competitive insights, something which others may not know. But one should realize that this tech is as good as its questions/prompts. You need to stabilize your data & give smart inputs in order to get better results.

Cipla USA proudly kicked off its first-ever #WalkingTogether for Cancer Survivors month-long fundraising campaign this week, an extension of the recently concluded 'Crossing the Nation for Cancer Survivors' initiative by the American Cancer Society, supporting the 31 Hope Lodge communities across the US. These communities provide essential free lodging to cancer patients and their families when treatment requires them to be far from home, significantly improving their quality of life. During this campaign, we challenge all #CiplaUSA colleagues to a virtual step challenge, aimed at promoting physical activity and enhancing employee health and well-being. This challenge symbolically mirrors the cancer patient journey from diagnosis to survivorship, highlighting inspirational survivor stories and emphasizing messages of hope, strength, and determination. A heartfelt thank you to our teams supporting all aspects of the campaign and cause. #OnThisDay in 1939, Mahatma Gandhi visited the former Cipla headquarters in Mumbai Central. A significant moment in Cipla’s history, and one that affirmed Cipla’s vision of self-sufficiency and self-reliance. During this visit, Gandhiji was impressed by some of the notable achievements Cipla had accomplished and commented in the visitor’s book – “I was delighted to visit this Indian enterprise.” A visit that encouraged the pursuit of providing access to essential medicines- a mission that Cipla continues to uphold.
