Staff at the North Central Branch and Main Library helped Aarianna (center) navigate the complexities of FAFSA and college applications. Staff also assisted Aarianna by reviewing her college application essays, which were submitted to 20 colleges, including prestigious institutions such as Howard University, Loyola Chicago, and Hofstra University. Karla’s support was especially invaluable for the application to The Bill and Melinda Gates Scholarship. We are thrilled to share that out of 53,000 applicants, Aarianna was chosen as one of the 1% selected for The Gates Scholarship Class of 2024! She has been granted a full ride to any college of her choice and will be attending Howard University on a pre-medicine track to become a doctor. Thank you, Sondra (Branch Manager), Karla (Youth Librarian), and Kent (Reference Librarian, Main Library) for helping Aarianna with her college journey!
