Original design and American craftsmanship for floors, tabletops, walls, and more.

About us

We are passionate about designing textiles and transforming them into beautiful, durable, and easy-to-clean products. At home in both residential and commercial spaces around the world, Chilewich products are designed at our New York City studio. Our design team includes master weavers who develop and refine innovative patterns and multi-tonal colors for collections that are renewed seasonally. Our desire for artistic expression is balanced by our commitment to reaching a broad audience and to creating products that retain their beauty and functionality over many years of daily use. Containing a minimum of 18% renewable vegetable content, our woven textiles are made entirely in the United States. The Chilewich factory in Chatsworth, Georgia, produces approximately 40,000 placemats a week. This 127,500-square-foot space is also where various backings are bonded to our textiles to create products for a range of applications. Behind the design: Our new Botanic weave was developed through a playful process that began with a trip to NYC's Flower District. Back at our studio, a variety of stems were arranged on paper. These compositions were then covered in a coat of spray paint. When the flowers were lifted away from the painted paper, their silhouettes remained.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The works on paper were photographed and then the compositions were collaged digitally. Finally, the image was translated into a woven jacquard, its playful blooms enlivened through unexpected color.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Botanic debuts as placemats, table runners, and rugs—as featured in the The New York Times.

Our Overshot weave is a 2024 NYCxDESIGN Awards honoree in the category of contract wall coverings. Also available as rugs, upholstery fabric, window coverings, and table mats, Overshot is inspired by vintage American coverlets. It's named for a weave structure with a long history and a distinctive construction: as the weft yarn jumps or "shoots" over the foundational plain weave of the warp yarns, a decorative pattern layer is created. ⁣ ➡Get a closer look with free samples: https://bit.ly/3wRRJrz
