When my principal asked me four years ago if I wanted to become his Chief of Staff, I thought: that sounds great! But what is it? Since then, over the past three years, I've collaborated with him on shaping this role which is quite common in the US and UK. In Germany, though, the role is often misunderstood (from questions like, "Oh, since when do you work in HR?" or being called "Chief of Stuff" 😄). A major contribution to clarifying this role and my personal development was joining the The Chief of Staff Association this year. I wanted to learn from other Chiefs of Staff around the world, from different industries and backgrounds. Being connected to so many talented, smart individuals across the globe is certainly unique. Thank you for setting up this program and establishing this network! After completing the Core Competency Program, I am proud to now call myself a Certified Chief of Staff®.
