Erie Street Row, located at 161 E. Erie St., received a preliminary landmark recommendation from the Commission on Chicago Landmarks today. Comprised of three rowhouses built around 1877, the Italianate building's conversion to offices in 1920 reflects the Near North Side's evolution from a residential to mixed-use district in the early 20th century.

DPD has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a program administrator for the third phase of the City's Community Wealth Building (CWB) initiative. CWB promotes local, democratic, and shared ownership and control of community assets, with this phase aiming to support worker cooperatives and community investment vehicles involving the shared ownership of commercial real estate. The Shared Ownership of Commercial Real Estate Program Administrator will provide technical assistance and administer capital grants to worker cooperatives or community investment vehicles that will acquire and rehabilitate commercial real estate. Preferred respondents are local, commercial real estate organizations that have knowledge and experience involving shared ownership models, grant disbursements, and wrap-around technical assistance.
