  • Dan Ward, a visionary in aquafarming, has revolutionized the industry with Ward Aquafarms. Dan's journey began with pioneering research and grant-funded projects, which enabled him to develop a proprietary aquaculture production system for his farm specializing in oysters, scallops, clams and sugar kelp. Dan turned to SCORE for expert guidance as he transitioned from seeking grants to seeking venture capital to fuel business growth. Paired with Dennis Walsh, a SCORE mentor with deep marine biology and business strategy expertise, Dan gained critical insights and connections in the venture capital space. With SCORE's support, Dan secured the funds to expand his production system. "SCORE was instrumental in navigating the business world," says Dan.
