About us

Change Climate is an independent nonprofit on a mission to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. We're creating the most recognized and trusted climate label, paired with accessible, action-focused tools and resources. We envision a world where all individuals can use their purchasing power against climate change, and all brands have the tools to be climate neutral. Our impact goal is 1 billion tonnes by 2030. If your company thinking about becoming Climate Neutral Certified, tell us your story at climateneutral.org/join-us. You can also start a free emissions estimate at climateneutral.org/bee.

  • Our Volunteer Program attracts PhDs and undergrads, people returning to the workforce, career changers and folks from around the world: all of whom are looking for opportunities to learn, create impact, and take a more active role in the fight against climate change in their spare time. The program is valued by companies and volunteers alike. Along with carbon measurement, volunteers work on design, engineering, research, regulatory, and creative projects. Interested in getting involved? Want to learn more about current projects? Join our next Volunteer Call on August 6th at 9:30am PT. • TCCP Program Manager Sarah Shoemaker recently talked emissions reduction with OnePointFive (opf.degree). She walks through brands use the BEE (Business Emissions Evaluator) to estimate corporate emissions for free, then refine down to ID the most strategic and impactful reductions with an annual license. The BEE is designed to be user-friendly and all feature updates are developed based on what users most need to make impactful climate decisions. Just starting out? Get Scope 1, 2, & 3 emissions estimates for free, in less than an hour. Seasoned Sustainability Managers can dive straight into the deep end with detailed data visualization to deploy the best strategy for their business. You can get started with an estimate at changeclimate.org/bee or reach out for a personalized demo. #climatechange #sustainability #corporatesocialresponsiblity #corporatesustainability

In December, an RMI study reported that 4,250 companies have validated science-based emissions targets. Corporate emissions targets increased 30% year over year from 2022 to 2023, from 1% between 2021 and 2022. We need exponentially more companies to measure, reduce, and compensate for their emissions in order to meet global net-zero goals, but this is a hopeful indicator for growth to come. Our 330 Climate Neutral Certified brands develop and implement reduction action plans (RAPs) to reduce emissions over the next 12-24 months using the BEE (Business Emissions Evaluator). Brands with over $100M in annual revenues are required to set science aligned reduction targets to reduce emissions ~50% by 2030. We're excited to play a small part in catalyzing corporate climate action by enabling our consumer goods companies to reduce and compensate for emissions in their value chain and beyond. #sustainability #climatechange

  • Let's dive into the future of corporate responsibility! 📈 💫 The $369 billion climate and clean energy stimulus in the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) jumpstarted a new era of corporate climate investment. From solar panels to electric vehicles, change is in the air (pun intended). This is important, but just breaking the surface if we want to turn the tide on climate change. 🌍 Read more about the next wave of corporate climate investment in our latest insights article, written by our Director of Partnerships, Greg Andeck. Juneteenth is a celebration of the end of slavery in American. It is also a reminder that Freedom is not the same as equality or justice. As we work on the problem of climate change, we must do the work to dismantle racial injustice and oppression and elevate voices driving change for marginalized communities. There are many ways to support racial justice within the climate movement: ➜ Invest in Black-owned climate companies ➜ Seek out and amplify Black climate creators, activists, founders, and leaders ➜ Learn from incredible Black leaders like Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Leah Thomas, of Intersectional Environmentalist. ➜ Create a discount or pricing scale for your products or services to support BIPOC-led businesses ➜ Vote for leaders that center racial justice within their environmental policies Want to support orgs doing important work in environmental justice 🌱👉 https://lnkd.in/guWxkERb

  • To address residual emissions in 2023, Climate Neutral Certified companies accounted for all of their emissions with eligible verified carbon credits and clean energy certificates. This creates financial accountability for all unabated emissions, every year. Last year, Certified companies invested an impressive $10M in climate solutions. These investments spanned high-quality carbon projects, including forestry, renewable energy, industry, and permanent carbon removals. Swipe right to hear from TCCP Program Manager, Alicia, on the importance of contribution and how it advances global climate goals. #sustainability #climatechange #corporateresponsibility

  • Climate claims and targets are a good start— but they’re better with plans attached. To become Climate Neutral Certified certified, companies must create near term reduction action plans and report on progress annually. • In 2023, a record-breaking 285 companies measured detailed carbon inventories using the BEE. We saw the rigor and accuracy of detailed inventories maintained with the use of physical data representing 19% of reported inputs across inventories, as opposed to spend data. We all know the saying "you can't manage what you don't measure." With detailed measurement and emissions reporting, BEE users manage emissions effectively and gain clear insight into their emissions hotspots and potential areas for reductions. Swipe ➡ for a 2023 Year in Review on Measurement from TCCP Program Manager, Sarah Shoemaker, and visit www.changeclimate.org/BEE for more information about our best in class carbon measurement platform 🐝 #sustainability #climatechange #corporateresponsibility
