The Chamber of Mothers is a collective movement to advance maternal rights in America.

About us

The Chamber of Mothers is a coalition of motherhood community leaders and individuals united in advocating for mothers' rights, modeled after the Chamber of Commerce, the largest lobbying block in the United States. Our first goal is to win paid leave, and we have been working in concert with existing lobby and advocacy groups toward that end. Donate: www.give.cornerstone.cc/chamberofmothers

You know it, I know it, we all know it. Moms deserve better. Luckily, our friends at Willow Innovations, Inc. moms' favorite wearable breast pumps, understand that too. That's why we are pumped (pun intended  😉 ) to announce our new partnership! Watch the video we created together to advocate for change ➡  https://lnkd.in/gSxrxCsD. "Willow was founded to disrupt outdated norms for motherhood, and with that mission, we are proud to use our voice to advocate for systemic change in partnership with Chamber of Mothers. There is power in the mom community; together, we can transform motherhood for the better." - Sarah O'Leary, CEO of Willow. This Fall, Willow is partnering up with us to help spread the word that maternal rights are on the ballot 🔗  https://lnkd.in/gE48feHK. When you 📱 text MOTHER to 26797 - you can: 💌 Register yourself to vote 🗳 Check your voter registration status 📣 Access detailed ballot and polling information on child care, paid leave and maternal health." Our next book club event is right around the corner 📖 on 8/14 with author of Touched Out, Amanda Montei. 😍 RSVP - https://lnkd.in/gJGqj4Sw When Amanda became a parent, she struggled with the physicality of caring for children, but even more with the growing lack of autonomy she felt in her personal and professional life. The conditions of modern American parenthood—the lack of paid leave and affordable childcare, the isolation and alienation, the distribution of labor in her home, and the implicit demands of marriage—were not what she had expected. Touched Out, Explores the stories we tell about psychology, childbirth, sexuality, the family, the overwhelm mothers feel trying to be “good,” and the tender bonds that form between parent and child. It delivers a powerful critique of American SA culture and its continuation in the institution of motherhood, and considers what it really means to care in America.

The vote to expand the Child Tax Credit (CTC) was blocked last week. However, you did a great job letting your Senators know you supported the expansion of the CTC. Thank you for showing up for families across America. This is the action we need. Katie Britt and Time Kaine introduced new legislation: The Child Care Availability Act and the Child Care Workforce Act. Swipe to find out how this legislation will help families. 📢 Two actions you can take: 1. Take Count on Mothers's poll to let your voice be heard about this Bipartisan Childcare Package - https://lnkd.in/gptQ2rP6 2. Email or call your Members of Congress and urge them to pass this Childcare package.

What does it mean to “Vote Like A Mother”? It means to vote thinking about the issues that are most important to our children. For me, it means I will vote for candidates who: 🔫 Fight for common sense gun laws 👶🏾 Believe in a national paid family leave policy 👧🏼 Are committed to improving childcare in America I love this Chamber of Mothers campaign because it challenges us all to think about what this statement means to us. Voting like a mother will mean different things to different people. But the central message is the same: vote for a future that is best for our children. ********************************************************** I'm Allison Whalen, founder of Parentaly, sharing stories & tips daily. Vote Like a Mother supports mothers by providing information and the tools needed to vote according to their interests as mothers. Kamala Harris has centered herself around maternal rights in America. She was the lead Senator in introducing the Maternal Health Momnibus Act, which is one of our priorities. We are working hard to get it passed. We were in DC this week, meeting across the aisle with Senators and urging them to pass the Momnibus package. Now is the time! Text MOTHER to 26797

The American Families Plan President Biden proposed immediately after taking office is the reason we all came together. We read the plan, believed in the possibility of improved social supports for moms, and met in person on the White House lawn for the first time when he passed the Bi-Partisan Safe Communities Act, which included the first piece of gun safety legislation in 25 years. Thank you, President Biden.
