  • The Membership & Communications Specialist position is now posted! Information on applying is below.

The Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley is currently seeking a Membership & Communications Specialist. The primary job duties of the Membership & Communications Specialist are to: 1) oversee the membership initiatives of the Chamber of Commerce (including engaging existing members, onboarding new members, and facilitating membership leads), and 2) assist with the Chamber’s communication and event planning needs (e-blasts, social media posts, website, committee meetings) to create brand awareness and drive top-of-mind engagement of membership activities and benefits Things you’ll love about working here: 1. No two days are ever the same! From visits to area businesses and luncheons on special topics to our once-a-month evening networking Business After Hours gathering or planning our annual Women in Leadership Conference, you’ll have a healthy but manageable To Do List with opportunities to engage with a diverse group of business professionals. A day in the life of a Chamber employee is focused on membership (recruiting new members to join and retaining existing members) and implementing programming to connect with those members. 2. It’s ok and understood that you have a life outside of work. Not stressing about these interruptions allows you to focus on your productivity and job duties. 3. Half days off on Fridays during the summer! Who doesn’t like a few extra hours to start the weekend when it’s sunny out? 4. We have great members and they are a ton of fun to network with and see at our events! Plus, as our Membership & Communications Specialist, you’ll be signing up many more new members to add to the fun! 5. Ongoing professional development and training is supported! If there is a conference or webinar that is needed to enhance our skillset, our Board of Directors encourages personal growth and bringing that knowledge back to the Chamber so that we can be more efficient and innovative. 6. • Celebrating our Newest Partner in Education relationship: Ritchie Regional Health Center and Jefferson Elementary Center Ritchie Regional Health Center (RRHC) and Jefferson Elementary Center (JEC) formalized its long-standing relationship last week with a ceremonial Partner in Education signing at the school. • “Music is the great unifier. An incredible force. Something that people who differ on everything and anything can have in common.” - Sarah Dessen Music certainly unified us this morning at our Breakfast Club gathering. Many thanks to the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra-Parkersburg for sponsoring this morning’s gathering with so many Chamber members in attendance we were overflowing on both sides of the office. Four attendees won tickets to the next show, Louie Armstrong & Friends, on March 24. Congratulations to Jerra Johnson with River Town Aviation LLC, Lynn Reins with Boys & Girls Club of Parkersburg, Vijay Shah with West Virginia University at Parkersburg, and Renee Murphy with First Mutual Bank! Make sure to check out the Appalachian Spring outdoor concert at Henderson Hall on April 24! Tickets range from $25-$45 for this unique show. Thank you to WVSOP volunteer leaders Becky McGinnis and Senta Goudy for sharing your passion about providing great orchestral music locally.
