🎉Grand Opening of Fairlawn Community Park Phase I in District 4! 🎉🌳🐶🚲 CES is thrilled to have provided Project and Construction Management Services for the Fairlawn Community Park Improvements project in partnership with the City of Miami’s Office of Capital Improvements! As part of the City’s Program Management team, our Sr. Construction Manager Ernest Cano played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life. Earlier this month, the city celebrated the Grand Opening of Phase I with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, marking the completion of a vibrant community space that includes a playground area for toddlers and young children, a dog run, new lighted walkways, and new trees, landscaping, and irrigation, as well as a stormwater network and roadway improvements around the park. The community enjoyed its first family movie night on July 12, further emphasizing the park's role as a hub for family-friendly activities and community engagement. 🌳🎬🎉 We are proud to have been part of this transformative project that enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. One of our latest tasks involves ensuring the safety and longevity of its treasured landmarks, including the Historical Charles Torrey Simpson Memorial Park and Gardens in the south area of Old Brickell. 🌳 As part of the City's 40-50 Year Recertifications of Citywide Parks & Projects, CES’s Sr. Project/Construction Manager, Jorge L. Zurita, is overseeing the recertification process to ensure these historic structures meet the latest safety standards. The recertification process involves a thorough inspection of structures 40 years or older to confirm they are safe for use and occupancy, as well as repairs to the facilities. #FunFact: Charles Torrey Simpson, known as the “Sage of Biscayne Bay,” was a renowned naturalist and botanist who contributed significantly to the study of Florida's flora. Her expertise spans design, inspections, project coordination, and environmental engineering, making her a valuable addition to our team. Prior to joining CES, Mary served as the CIP Director for the Town of Medley, where she successfully coordinated multiple construction and design projects, processed FDOT LAP, and conducted budget and schedule analyses. Mary is currently providing #CEI services on our Water Main Aerial Crossing along the West 41st Street Bridge Replacement project for the City of Miami Beach.
