It’s bittersweet saying goodbye to the CenterPoint name since we’ve made such wonderful memories and impacts creating high quality assessments, working with our school and district partners, and enjoying time with our amazing colleagues as a part of CenterPoint. Today is our last day as CenterPoint Education Solutions, as on Monday our staff will officially be a part of Cognia, and our products and services will be integrated into their suite of products. Change is hard, but this change has been so rewarding and exciting, because it allows us to have an even greater impact to continue improving education systems and student outcomes. Over the next few weeks we will be shutting down our website and our social media accounts, but you’ll still be able to hear all about our work through Cognia’s social channels. We will continue to share our insights about interim assessment, results from our science pilots, and more. Stay tuned for this next chapter, and be sure to follow Cognia! Strong reading skills are essential for student success across all subjects. In collaboration with Edcite, we have developed reading screeners for grades K-2 that capture a snapshot of the reading foundational skills needed for students to successfully decode words in the respective early elementary grades. In just a few weeks, on July 1st, CenterPoint will officially become a part of Cognia and our suite of products will be integrated into theirs. We can’t wait to continue our important work as part of Cognia, and we believe strongly in our shared mission of educational improvement through high quality assessment, professional learning, accreditation and certification, and other improvement services! Something we’re particularly excited about is Cognia’s vision for accountability systems in schools, which is outlined in a white paper written by Cognia’s CEO Mark Elgart. He outlines a vision of a new accountability system that includes robust through-year assessment that challenges our current system where we center end-of-year summative testing. Last week we had the opportunity to be a part of a wonderful discussion with the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) and Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company!    Thank you to NJSBA, Michael Kvidahl from NJSBA, and Anthony Salcito from Varsity Tutors. Our very own Elizabeth Gilbert was thrilled to join the Enhancing Student Success: Strategies and Tools Roundtable to discuss topics such as quality assessments, learning tools fostering collaboration among students, teachers, and families, the importance of equity, exploration of AI, and future roadmaps for students and teachers.

We're excited to share that we are a part of the community of science educators and experts that were recently awarded a seed grant by Digital Promise. We're so excited to support the research around OpenSciEd implementation and the development of a teacher leadership program that supports and sustains equitable science teaching and learning.
