CNE had an amazing time at the 2024 Network Learning Confab. Our staff engaged in deep learning sessions to enhance our leadership within Virginia's nonprofit sector, focusing on building a connected community. We gained valuable insights on strengthening nonprofit networks, fostering collaboration, and boosting community engagement. The sessions were packed with great ideas on innovative fundraising, effective communication, and using technology for social impact.

Today, we remember the events that began at the Stonewall Inn in June 28, 1969, a pivotal moment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Americans. Throughout history and even today, LGBTQ individuals face bigotry and widespread discrimination, impacting every facet of life. The Stonewall Inn has since become an international symbol of the fight for equality. In 1999, it was the first property in the U.S. to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its association with LGBT civil rights. Let’s continue to honor and fight for justice and equality for all.

We are thrilled to welcome two Batten graduate students, Jenna Leilani Chong Huber and Ahmad Yasir Hasin, to the CNE team for their summer internships! They will support our work by conducting research on several projects, contributing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. We look forward to all the great work they will do!
