About us
The Center for Geospatial Solutions is a nonprofit geospatial technology enterprise founded to equip people and planet to meet the pace of change. Data navigators for the common good, CGS brings clarity and insight across today’s fractured and fast-paced information landscape. Our team works with purpose-driven organizations to address some of the most pressing issues facing us today like housing affordability, water scarcity, and ecosystem conservation. We help nonprofits, municipalities, federal agencies, and more take advantage of emerging technologies like machine learning, artificial intelligence, and earth observations to accelerate their work. With decades of cross-sector experience, we are more than technologists. We intrinsically know what our clients are trying to do. We leverage this applied experience to help guide effective solutions and meet our partners where they are, tailoring services to each organization’s needs and technical capabilities. We work across the full data-information chain, wrangling raw data on small and big scales into useful and actionable knowledge. We transform information into impact by developing software, dashboards, and applications that help our clients understand complex situations and respond to emerging realities and opportunities. The Center for Geospatial Solutions operates as part of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy.

Congratulations to Mass Audubon on receiving this grant! We're excited to work with them and CTrees to help measure the conservation impact of land restoration in the Connecticut River Watershed.
Big news! We just received a $25 million federal grant—the largest in our history—to work with several nonprofit conservation partners to protect more than 10,000 acres of forests and wetlands in the Connecticut River Watershed. These funds, in addition to the $75 million we’ve committed to raising privately, are a critical part of the solution to meeting the state’s goal of protecting 30 percent of its land by 2030 and safeguarding our most biodiverse and carbon-rich lands to help mitigate the negative impacts of climate change. #ICYMI: Bloomberg CityLab cited the Center for Geospatial Solutions’ analysis of property owned by religious groups ⬇️
Religious groups own millions of acres of land and thousands of empty buildings. But converting this real estate into affordable homes takes more than just faith.

Of all the steps that go into developing #AffordableHousing, we're simplifying the first one: identifying new places it can be built. Check out how we're helping religious institutions better understand their landholdings and examine their opportunities for new development in the latest from Bloomberg CityLab https://lnkd.in/gC9VdNH9
