The gut microbiome has become an essential indicator of health and disease among humans. It represents a set of ecologically intricate interactions with small perturbations resulting in dramatic shifts in the overall composition and leading to dysbiosis. Changes to stable microbial communities within the gut have been implicated in a wide range of metabolic disorders. As a result, it becomes crucial to understand the functional dynamics of both the individual members and the underlying interactions between members. Advances in meta-omics approaches, including taxonomic characterization through metagenomics and functional (expression) characterization of transcriptomes through meta transcriptomics, have tremendously increased our understanding of the gut microbiome and its interactions with the human host. Join us for a webinar featuring Jordan Bisanz (Pennsylvania State University), Jean Macklaim (Diversigen), and Ivan Vujkovic-Cvijin (Cedars-Sinai), who will share advances on the use of meta-omics approaches to study the gut microbiome in the context of human health and disease. Registration is free, the discussion starts July 29, 12:00 pm ET. https://hubs.ly/Q02HMzcx0
