CMC was proud to participate once again in the Cedar Rapids Pride celebration earlier this month. Fostering a welcoming and inclusive community is at the core of our mission. If you missed us, be sure to visit our booth this weekend at the Downtown Farmer's Market!

A Place of Welcome
About us
The Catherine McAuley Center offers hope and opportunity through educational and supportive services that promote stability, skill-building, and connection. While CMC’s programs serve distinct populations – refugees, immigrants, and women experiencing crisis – they are united by a common purpose of promoting the well-being and dignity of individuals in need and helping people achieve greater stability, community inclusion, and improved quality of life. Contact us to learn more about why we believe working together for an inclusive community is important! Volunteer, give, or meet with our Employment Services Coordinator to learn more about how our clients may be able to meet your workforce needs.

Help us congratulate CMC’s very own Anne Dugger, Interim Executive Director, on receiving the Jean Oxley Service Award presented by the League of Women Voters! Pictured here, Anne is joined by Jean Oxley’s son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, Breanna Oxley, who is also a tutor at CMC. Much like Jean Oxley, Anne is actively involved in the community, focusing her efforts on enriching the lives of our neighbors in Linn County. In her 9 years of service to the Catherine McAuley Center, Anne has served as Director of Education Services and Refugee & Immigrant Services, expanding classes and program offerings while consistently advocating for immigrants, refugees, and adult learners. Anne was honored as an ‘Everyday Hero’ by The Gazette in 2019. She also serves on the Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission and has received numerous accolades for her innovative approach to English as a Second Language instruction and U.S. Citizenship curriculum. Congratulations, Anne! Your passion and energy are an inspiration to us all.
