This is a strategic opening that will expand access to much-needed autism services in and around San Jose. In California, 1 in 22 children today are identified as having autism. With such increasing prevalence, openings like this are crucial. Now at eight total locations, a gigantic congratulations is in order for all who made it possible for Easterseals Northern California to continue to grow to meet the demand for care!

Just a few moments ago, Andrea Pettiford, CEO of Easterseals Northern California, cut the ceremonial ribbon celebrating the official opening of our new Easterseals office in San Jose. Since our soft opening, we have already served more than 70 families!

    President and CEO Catalight

I had the privilege of spending time this past weekend in New York with an exceptional group of women leaders as we celebrated the Forbes 2024 #50over50. It was an inspiring reminder of the critical role leadership and vision play in our work and the change we strive to create every day. Congratulations to the newest honorees. I look forward to celebrating each of you for years to come.

Forbes and Know Your Value celebrate the achievements and impact of women over 50 who continue to pave the way for inclusive and sustainable change. In 2023, our CEO Susan Armiger was named to the Forbes’ #50over50 list. This weekend, she joined 2024 honorees and a large group of fellow alumni for their annual luncheon at the iconic Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center. She was able to connect with Suze OrmanMika Brzezinski and the 2024 honorees who are defining vision, leadership and excellence for the next generation.

#Voting is an American right. Removing barriers so people with disabilities are able to vote at the same rate as people without disabilities would mean that there would be roughly 1.75 million more votes cast in the presidential election. Take time and prepare, learn about your rights and understand the resources available prior to Election Day on Nov. 5.
