CASL is pleased to announce we’ve been recognized with the Top Workplace USA Award, benchmarked against data collected from over 70,000 organizations nationwide. Out of just over 100 nonprofits recognized nationwide, CASL is one of only two organizations in the Chicago metropolitan area to receive this honor. Thank you to all of our community members for making this possible. Our success depends upon the many individuals and families we serve, and this recognition is well-deserved by our 600 employees who work tirelessly to ensure CASL remains the community staple it has been for 45 years. #NonprofitLeadership #Changemakers #ThoughtLeadership

We are saddened to hear of the passing of our friend and CASL supporter Cook County Commissioner Dennis Deer. We were inspired by his work toward equity through employment, economic development, and healthcare access. Deer was a fierce advocate for the community he served, and he will be dearly missed. CASL aims to continue Deer's mission in our community. His spirit will live on through our efforts and those of our many community partners across Chicago. We thank Commissioner Deer for his service and are keeping his family and friends in our thoughts during this difficult time. “He was a fierce champion of equity in every space he entered. Dennis brought his intellect, wisdom, passion, advocacy and faith everywhere he went,” -Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, statement on the passing of Dennis Deer

Thank you 25th Ward Office and Alderman Byron Sigcho-Lopez for hosting an incredible Health Resource Fair/Father's Day Event. This event was instrumental in providing essential information about social service programs from numerous community-based organizations, ensuring that the men of the 25th ward are connected with the health resources they need! The event was a fun-filled day for families, with soccer scrimmages, games, and prizes bringing the community together. It was wonderful to see our Behavioral Health and Clinical Services, In-Home Service Program, and the Anti-Hate Action Center actively participating and contributing to this meaningful initiative. CASL was honored to host the Chicago Sister Cities International in-person conference on Friday, June 21st. Delegates from 9 Chicago Sister Cities - Birmingham, Casablanca, Durban, Galway, Hamburg, Kyiv, Osaka, Paris, and Shanghai - gathered in CASL's Harmony Hall for a discussion about fostering global connections. We were thrilled to share our innovative community-level work with the delegates, showcasing how CASL is advancing racial equity and reducing health disparities among AANHPIs in Chicago. 🤝 We are always glad to share our efforts with others to foster a more equitable and inclusive world. #GlobalConnections #RacialEquity #HealthEquity #AANHPI #CommunityImpact #ChicagoSisterCities #CASL

Juneteenth is a day we acknowledge as the moment when the last slaves were informed of freedom, and had their freedom enforced. Today, CASL celebrated Juneteenth with educational activities, food, and crafts. We will be closed Wednesday, June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Let's take this time to reflect on the importance of racial equity, inclusion, and cultural acceptance. #Juneteenth #RacialEquity #Inclusion #CulturalAcceptance #CASL

We are thrilled to announce CASL has been selected as a recipient of a grant from Cook County Health for our Behavioral Health and Clinical Services program. This program aims to provide culturally and linguistically competent trauma-informed care for our community. By increasing access to mental health services, we also hope to break the stigma that surrounds mental health in the community. Thank you to Cook County Health and Cook County Government for supporting work to improve mental health in Cook County. We are #StrongerTogether.
