Maintaining a sharp brain as you age requires a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains. Nutritionists recommend getting protein from plant sources and fish, and choosing healthy fats like olive oil. Research shows that foods good for your brain are also heart-healthy, including: 🥦Leafy Greens: Vegetables like kale, spinach, and broccoli are rich in brain-healthy nutrients and may slow cognitive decline. 🐟Fatty Fish: Fish like salmon and cod are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce harmful brain proteins linked to Alzheimer's. Aim for at least two servings a week. 🍓Berries: Flavonoids in berries can improve memory. Eating strawberries and blueberries twice a week may delay memory decline. ☕Tea and Coffee: Caffeine can boost concentration and memory. Higher caffeine consumption is linked to better mental function. 💡Walnuts: Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, walnuts can improve memory and support brain health by promoting better blood flow and reducing pressure. Following these dietary tips can help keep your brain and heart healthy as you age.
