Change a Child's Story
About us
As Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA of the Southern Tier, Inc. advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children in Family Court within Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Yates Counties of New York. When an abused or neglected child becomes caught up in the complexities of the court system, the CASA Volunteer is there to tell the child's story. The CASA Program recruits, screens, trains and supervises community volunteers to provide this advocacy role - and also to ensure they do not get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system. And even so - languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives. We know that a child who is represented by a CASA volunteer stands a better chance of living in a safe, permanent home. Our mission is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in Family Court by recruiting and training community volunteers. Our vision is to see every child in a safe, secure, and loving home.
