What happens to your firm if you – or your firm’s leader – were to have an accident while traveling? Would things still run smoothly? One way to make sure things do run smoothly is to have a key person continuity plan in place, writes Jessica Colston, MS, PCC. But you have to have four things in place to make your key person continuity plan more solid: ✅ Updated valuation ✅ Insurance analysis ✅ Updated procedures manuals for your firm ✅ Access to any templates for continuity plans from your compliance department or regulatory bodies Read more in Jessica’s blog post: https://lnkd.in/geuQ4k_D

Do you often have a ton of tasks on your to-do list that you don't get to? Do you push them back to the next day? Then the next? Jessica Colston, MS, PCC says that when this happens, get your list of undone to-dos at the end of the week take and assign the tasks any of the 4 Ds: 💡𝗗𝗼 𝗶𝘁. Schedule time the following week to complete the task. 💡𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁. Decide that the task is something you 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 need to do. If not, delete it from your to-do list. 💡𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁. Delegate it to a team member who might have capacity and interest. 💡𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘁. If the task isn't urgent or important, defer it to a later time. Regularly checking in with your employees is a critical element to avoiding burnout, which is high in the financial sector, writes J.J. Peller in the latest issue of the Journal of Financial Planning. J.J. advises checking in regularly with your employees (monthly or quarterly) to prevent burn out. Ask them questions like: ❓ What do you love doing? ❓ What lights you up? ❓ What are you most enjoying about your work? ❓ What do you not like about your work right now? Read J.J.’s full article for a deeper dive into this topic: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gRtgJGg8
