This has been such an incredible month! A very special milestone this month was the inaugural Amputee Walking School Reunion and Award Ceremony hosted by Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, an extraordinary celebration of the Comprehensive Amputee Rehabilitation Program and our incredible Partners in Care. Most notably, Dr. Rabadi, Medical Director of Sans Souci, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award and city proclamation from Mayor Spano. In addition to celebrating Dr. Rabadi’s contributions, Sans Souci honored current and former amputee patients who have triumphantly completed the Comprehensive Amputee Rehabilitation Program in the community, founded by Paralympic Gold Medalists Todd Schaffhauser and Dennis Oehler. At Sans Souci, patients rehabilitate, rejuvenate, recover, and return safely home; they may have arrived as a patient, but they will most certainly leave as a friend, as ReNEWal truly happens here. #KeepMovingForward #ThrowbackThursday

Congratulations to our Professional of the Year, Elana Naclerio, Director of Creative Arts Therapy and Recreation at St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center!✨ Graduating from CW Post with a Master’s in Clinical Art Therapy, she began as an intern in 2013 at St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She obtained licensure hours in the Art Therapy Department and became a NYS Licensed Creative Arts Therapist. Over her time at St. James, she was promoted to her current position, the Director of Recreation. Elana is known for her warm, compassionate presence, and she shares her creativity in all that she does, creating individualized opportunities for her residents to feel empowered and find a sense of purpose, listening to their needs and wants to ensure their ideas come to life. She has created lasting connections with residents, staff, families, and caregivers alike. She is a gifted liaison and supporter within the community. What did Elana win?
