Columbia Pacific CCO's Community Health Summit is less than a month away! The summit (Oct. 7-8 at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center) is free to attend and open to all. Launched in 2016 in response to the opioid crisis, the yearly gathering is one of the most important ways that Columbia Pacific listens to the voices of the communities it serves. The first day of the summit will focus on substance use disorders and the second day will focus on the regional youth system of care. The event brings together young people, families and partners to build connections and brainstorm ways to address barriers. Learn more and register: https://ow.ly/YL6L50Tqr9q

CareOregon is a major strategic partner in our community impact work. Appreciate them for lending James Mason, Ph.D. and Tommie Wood to us for a half-day staff training at our CareOregon Club in Rockwood on cross cultural communications. Lisa Meersman is constantly at work using her natural super power to build strategic organizational culture through these types of professional learning opportunities. Last Thursday, we celebrated the first cadre of nursing students who received the Billi Odegaard Nursing Scholarship at an event commemorating the completion of their first academic year. CareOregon provided an initial grant to seed the Billi Odegaard Scholarship Fund, supporting its long-term commitment to growing a diverse health care provider workforce in Oregon. Congratulations to scholarship recipients Viviana Zurita, Daniel Peraza Garzon, and Tania Mendoza on your first academic year! We are immensely proud of you and confident that you are on the path to accomplishing great things.

We were thrilled to celebrate 4D Recovery's new 40-unit sober living complex in Portland's Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood, a crucial addition to support addiction recovery in Multnomah County. Funded by CareOregon, this facility offers a supportive, drug-free environment for individuals to build independence and work towards a healthier life. "Recovery housing is a critical component in the continuum of care. It’s where individuals find the stability and community necessary to sustain their recovery and rebuild their lives," said CEO Eric C. Hunter. "That’s why we’re so proud to be a key partner in this project, working alongside 4D to create a space where individuals can find not just shelter, but a supportive environment crucial to their recovery journey." The facility is designed to help people graduating residential treatment who commit to remaining sober, attending life-skills groups, finding a community in recovery and securing employment. #4DRecovery #CareOregon #SoberLiving #NationalRecoveryMonth #AddictionRecovery
