For this week’s WOW of the Week, we are highlighting one of our VIPs Oleksandr, who was assisted by our Tacoma TEAM! #WinsOfWorkforce Oleksandr came to Career TEAM with the goal of starting a career and becoming a CDL Driver. Through working with Career TEAM and his Career Advisor, we were able to find the right resources to cover the tuition for Oleksandr’s CDL training! After completing his training, Oleksandr has become a full time CDL Driver! Oleksandr expressed, “I am excited to continue working and growing in this field. Tetiana is a passionate Employment Specialist on our Southwest Washington TEAM, dedicated to helping refugees and other VIPs with language barriers secure employment, integrate into the community, and achieve self-sufficiency. She goes beyond employment, providing valuable information on local resources such as language courses, housing assistance, and transportation. Her collaboration with partnering agencies ensures her VIPs receive the necessary support for a smooth integration into the community. Recently, Tetiana has helped over 36 families secure employment, positively impacting over 120 lives! Her efforts extend to both adults and young adults, bringing a sense of fulfillment and reward with each success story. Tetiana is also a proud contributor to the Ukrainian community in the Vancouver and Portland area, making WorkSource a recognized and trusted resource for customers. Tetiana's favorite Career TEAM Core Value is "We Keep Our Word Period." This value resonates deeply with her personal principles of reliability, trustworthiness, and integrity. Meet Mitch, our Young Adult Outreach Specialist in Pierce County! Clarence Mitchell Jr spends his days immersed in our communities, whether he's at schools, career fairs, workshops, or community sites, his goal is to connect with young adults. He is passionate about enrolling young adults  into our programs while also ensuring they know about valuable available resources to them. One of Mitch's proudest achievements has been helping to organize the Young Adult Trendz events! His team has successfully hosted three events across Pierce County. These gatherings are resource hubs where young adults can access opportunities, resources, and plenty of swag, thanks to our amazing community partners. For Mitch, it's all about Career TEAM Core Value # 2: "We are Passionate!" Engaging with our community's young adults is not just a job; it's his passion. #WinsofWorkforce: Empowering Our Veterans! We are thrilled to share the success story of Brandon, who recently separated from the U.S. Army, where he served as an IT Support Specialist. Brandon enrolled in Saint Martin’s Vets 2 Tech Server and Cloud Application Program, aspiring to become a Network and Computer Systems Administrator and gain the certification needed to secure a self-sufficient and rewarding career. While working with Career TEAM, Brandon received career coaching as well as support services to help cover his housing costs during his program, allowing him to focus on his studies. After earning the certification from Vets 2 Tech, Brandon was excited to accept a full-time position as a Network Technician! This week's WOW is all about celebrating Vadym, one of our amazing VIPs!  #WinsOfWorkforce Vadym's journey to the US from Ukraine was filled with challenges, especially adjusting to new cultural norms and navigating the job market. However, his path took a positive turn when he connected with his dedicated career advisor, Oleksandr Burlakov. At Career TEAM, Vadym received invaluable support, including help acquiring the necessary tools for his job as a Truck Mechanic. This assistance was crucial for Vadym, as it enabled him to confidently start his new employment. He shared, “Looking back over the past year, I realize how fortunate I was to walk into WorkSource Pierce and meet Oleksandr. Having someone who genuinely cares and goes above and beyond to help you succeed is indeed a blessing.
