We are incredibly proud of our Capitol City Robotics students, Luisa Orellana-Castillo and Michael Daza. This past weekend, they participated in an invaluable experience on Capitol Hill with the Student Association for STEM Advocacy. Alongside many peers from the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation and FIRST Robotics, they spent two days training with students from across the USA. They honed their skills in STEM advocacy, gained insights into the workings of House committees, and learned effective communication strategies with their (non-voting!) representative, Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton. Luisa and Michael passionately dedicated themselves to this initiative, understanding the critical importance of STEM for our District, our nation, and, very importantly, the Defense of our Nation. Their commitment and enthusiasm are truly inspiring! #SASANAC2024 #LatinosinSTEM #GirlsinSTEM #STEMadvocacy

Creating a future where science and robotics careers are a place for everyone
About us
Capitol City Robotics believes engineering, computer science, and programming are the most important fundamental tools for children to learn today to be prepared for the future. We also believe that there are other skills to be learned through robotics that are equally important. Every program at Capitol City Robotics incorporates soft skills like Leadership, Teamwork, Written Presentation, and Oral Presentation. These skills will carry our kids into the future beyond robots and beyond artificial intelligence.

Congratulations Helen! #morethanrobots
🚀 Eight Months! 🚀 At Capitol City Robotics, we celebrate More Than Robotics. Over the past eight months, our 32 elementary students dove deep into the world of the VEX GO Robotics Competition. But it's about more than just building robots; it's about fostering workforce skills and cultivating leaders. Behind every team was a dedicated student #mentor, guiding them through engineering challenges, coding hurdles, and honing their presentation skills for that all-important first competition interview. Our programs are not just about participation; they are about empowerment. I'm incredibly proud to say that all our programs are female and student-run. Helen Alexander-Fettus, a VEX V5 RC high school robotics student, took the helm as program manager. Throughout the season, she led with gusto, training interns and mentors, maintaining open lines of communication with parents, and tirelessly refining our program to perfection. Capitol City Robotics isn't just about building robots; it's about shaping future #STEM leaders. We're not just teaching skills; we're instilling the confidence to lead, innovate, communicate, delegate, and embrace failure as part of the learning process. Helen, your remarkable achievements this season have not gone unnoticed. Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to empowering the next generation of STEM leaders. Here's to many more milestones and successes ahead! 🌟 #Mentorship #STEMLeaders #GirlsinSTEM #VEXGOCompetition #VEXRobotics #RECFoundation #VEXGO

Congratulations Chickens!! #GirlsinSTEM
I'm thrilled to announce the incredible achievements of Capitol City Robotics team 17760V, famously known as the Glowing Chickens! 🌟🤖 After 9 months of relentless dedication, countless hours of cataloguing, coding, and engineering, coupled with numerous setbacks and failures, our team has returned triumphantly from the VEX World Robotics Championship, the pinnacle of robotics competitions worldwide! These amazing girls overcome every STEM challenge thrown their way and clinched the coveted Build Award in the middle school division for their outstanding robot engineering prowess and their ability to scientifically articulate every step of their mechanical engineering design process. None of this would have been possible without the support of our partners. A heartfelt shoutout goes to FiscalNote, Girls In Technology (GIT), and our main sponsor, WilmerHale. Your invaluable support and encouragement played a pivotal role in empowering these young minds to reach such remarkable heights. This victory not only signifies our team's exceptional talent and hard work but also highlights the limitless potential of girls in #STEM. Together, we're breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of innovators. 🚀 #RoboticsChampions #STEMExcellence #GirlsinSTEM #Innovation #VEXWorlds #RECFoundation
