🔥As the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympic Games begins today, we're proud to share photos from some of the dynamic athletics projects we've designed where Olympic athletes have trained and competed. Here's a few photos from the University of Oregon's Hayward Field (host of this year's US Track and Field qualifiers) by SRG CannonDesign, the Richmond Olympic Oval (2010 Vancouver Olympic Games) and the Lake Placid Olympic Complex (site of the Miracle on Ice). Good luck to all athletes competing for their countries this year!

We design solutions that help people continuously flourish. Living-Centered Design is how we do it.
About us
As an integrated design firm, we do a lot of things. But at our core, we help people continuously flourish. We leverage the heart, passion and intelligence of our more than 1,000 creative thinkers to develop solutions for some of the greatest challenges facing our clients and society. Whether designing for equity in education, accessible healthcare, inclusive communities, new scientific discoveries or the “next big idea” in business, we partner with organizations to help them improve human life. We do this through a design approach we created called Living-Centered Design. Our approach realizes that to create a world where people continuously flourish, we must address the complex interdependencies that exist between people, businesses, communities, society and the environment. Experience is everything. Using design, technology, storytelling and art, our environmental graphics team crafts experiences that reinforce brand identity, celebrate an organization's culture, and inform, inspire and connect people to place in profound ways. We are proud to share that Northwell Health's Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion was awarded Project of the Year (Over $50 Million) by AMFP Greater NY - Association of Medical Facility Professionals at their awards gala last week. This 280,000-sf surgical pavilion is an addition to Northwell Health’s flagship campus on Long Island and has 18 operating rooms including three Hybrid ORs and 132 Intensive Care Unit rooms. The pavilion allowed for expansion and growth of Northwell's cardiac, neuro and organ transplant programs. Thanks to all our partners at Skanska, BR A Consulting Engineers, Thornton Tomasetti, VHB, P.J. Romano & Co., Shen Milsom & Wilke and especially Northwell Health who made this project a success.

This year, CannonDesign was a proud Community Partner for the Sundays on State event series, hosted by Chicago Loop Alliance. Attracting more than 100,000 attendees, Sundays on State offered a phenomenal opportunity to share our children's book — Designing Dreams: An Official Deja the Dynamo Adventure — with young readers and their families from near and far. Thank you to our colleagues from our Chicago office who volunteered at both Sundays on State events (June 16 and July 14) to help advance our goal to share the world of design with children from all backgrounds. www.dejathedynamo.com

Join Abigail Clary, FAIA, FACHA, LEED AP, co-director of our Global Health Practice, this September in Chicago for her inspiring talk on human-centered healthcare experiences and how we can all contribute towards a better future in healthcare and beyond.
We’re pleased to announce that Abigail Clary, FAIA, FACHA, LEED AP, Healthcare Architect, will be taking the stage for TedxChicago 2024: Lighting the Way at The Harris Theater for Music and Dance Chicago on Friday, September 27th 🎤 Clary has nearly 30 years of experience helping globally recognized institutions architect more accessible healthcare spaces and is the Global Health Practice Co-Director at CannonDesign. Clary believes we must design healthcare experiences that have a diverse range of patients’ and practitioners’ ideal outcomes in mind. Without human-centered experiences, we will forever be tied to a healthcare model that is sometimes more harmful than healing. She listens to the stories of those left out of the current model to create dynamic designs that serve as the spark for more inclusive healthcare. 🎟️ Round 1 tickets will be available on Thursday, July 25th at TEDxChicago.com and the link in our bio. Make sure you’re following us for additional details on all TEDxChicago 2024 speakers and ticket reminders. 🎟️ hashtag #TedXChicago #TedXChicago2024 #Chicago #LightingtheWay #Design #HealthcareExperienceInnovation #TellingOurStory #Cannondesign

Every year, CannonDesigners across all offices come together to celebrate to our communities in a meaningful way. We love where we live and work — so Community Impact Day is just a small part we can do in giving back to a place we call home. From Ann Arbor to Seattle to Boston, we took some time out of the usual work today to give back to our communities. Collecting trash, making meals, playing with shelter pets, repainting schools--these are just a few ways we contributed to local non-profits and organizations. See where we made an impact this year: https://hubs.la/Q02GXpmV0 #communityservice #givingback #volunteer #livingcentereddesign

Equitable design and inclusivity are at the forefront of many of our design conversations, but underneath those terms are a number of different processes and nuances that help tailor spaces for individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. These include: ✴ Designing for neurodiversity ✴ Cultural inclusivity ✴ Trauma-informed design ✴ Mental health design ✴ Universal design Our Stephanie Vito, AIA, ACHA and Marisa Nemcik, AIA NCARB WELL AP authored a short resource guide that defines these types of designs and where they can be applicable to ensure a welcome environment for all. https://lnkd.in/d3Ki9eBH
