A slow interconnection process can be a major source of pain for distributed energy resource adopters. It's also a headache for their utilities. Camus helps utility planning teams accelerate interconnections without sacrificing reliability. Our flexible interconnections help utilities speed up the integration of EV fleets, industrial loads, and distributed generation where local grid constraints would otherwise require upgrades. To manage the impact of distributed resources, utilities need visibility to the edges of the grid. You can’t manage what you can’t measure. Camus' software brings together utility data from the full alphabet soup of operational systems – alongside data directly from distributed devices – to help utilities generate a composite view of what's happening on the grid today and what's likely to occur tomorrow. "There are thousands of venture-backed climate tech companies in North America. Of those, 50 of them are best-positioned to get their technologies to deployment and scale by 2050, according to a new report by Congruent Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank. The focus of the report, according to Joshua Posamentier, one of the report’s authors and Congruent’s managing partner and co-founder, is on technologies that are either being deployed already or do not require major behavioral changes to be deployed." At Camus, we're proud to be working on the complex but achievable goal of optimizing the existing grid. Money is flowing into climate tech companies, but how do we know which ones will actually have an impact on carbon emissions? A new report from Congruent Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank features Camus as one of 50 companies with significant potential to do just that. 🎉 The report surveyed over 50 experts in academia, finance and private sector businesses to assemble a list that was then whittled down to 50 out of more than 500 nominees. Camus' orchestration software for grid operators and planners is accelerating the transition to a reliable, affordable, and zero-carbon power system. We're grateful and proud to see our progress and potential recognized by industry experts. Check out the full list: https://lnkd.in/gFH42dNn

In Rural Electric Magazine, a new infographic explains the drivers for and barriers to building new transmission infrastructure. However, one thing's missing: distribution-level flexibility. By tapping into local energy resources, including both generation and flexible demand, utilities can reduce the need for and provide more time for transmission to be built, providing much-needed optionality as they strive to build new infrastructure and keep up with growing electricity demand. As more and more rural utilities start to harness resources in their community, we expect there'll be a new addition to the next infographic.
