In 2023, hunters, anglers, and conservationists were relieved when a 20-year mining ban was issued, protecting 225,504 acres around the Boundary Waters. But this safeguard is temporary, and the threat of toxic copper-nickel mining remains. "There will be no sulfide mines in Northeastern Minnesota. Not on our watch."
