Travel to Oman with Head of Education Reform, MENA, Soumi Saha ✨ Part of our Cambridge Partnership for Education team, Soumi works with governments and international organisations on designing tailored education reforms that address the specific needs of local contexts in MENA (Middle East & North Africa). Here Soumi takes us with her to the ICESCO Education Ministers Conference in Muscat, Oman for the launch of the Greening Education Framework, which Cambridge co-developed. The framework provides practical policy recommendations for each of the four pillars for transforming education established by UNESCO’s Greening Education Partnership—greening curricula, greening teachers, greening schools, and greening communities. 🔗 ICESCO and Cambridge will be convening an interactive ministerial discussion on the framework at #COP29 next month, which you can read more about here: https://bit.ly/3YHx2cG Thanks to Soumi for giving us a glimpse into her work! #ClimateEducation #DayInTheLife #PursuingPotential

Colleagues at Cambridge University Press & Assessment heard from actor and writer, Sharon De Leonardis, who presented extracts from her play, Rise of the Empress, on what it means to be a Black and British woman, at an event organised for #BlackHistoryMonth. The “thought-provoking” and “moving” play focuses on a meeting between two women to explore issues of race, gender, heritage, language, and culture, using dialogue, poetry, video and montage. Through the play and the event discussion, De Leonardis calls for greater awareness of Black history and the need for more to be taught in schools. As we approach the end of this year’s Black History Month in the UK, explore Cambridge books and research highlights: https://bit.ly/4f3p0kd
