In Cedar Key, FL, Dennis, owner of 2nd Street Cafe and Steamers Clam Bar & Grill, faced back-to-back challenges that tested his resilience and spirit. When a fire damaged Steamers, Dennis and his team adapted by expanding 2nd Street Cafe’s hours to serve dinner. Just as they were adjusting, Hurricane Helene hit, flooding the cafe with over 4 feet of water and causing extensive damage. Dennis shared his journey with our support team: “The team at CAKE helped not only get our terminals up and running again but also provided us with a third terminal to support our expanded service. Merging both menus onto one POS was seamless, thanks to their help.” For restaurants along the coast in similar situations, Dennis’ story is a reminder that with strong partners and determination, recovery is possible.
