🚨 Hurricane Helene's Devastation in NW North Carolina Needs Immediate Attention 🚨 While Cadence Coalition is proud to call Florida home, many of our colleagues, friends, and family members have deep ties to North Carolina. We’ve witnessed the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene, especially in NW North Carolina, where the severity of the situation has not received the attention or aid it deserves. People in these communities are stranded without food, water, and shelter, and families remain separated as search efforts for missing loved ones continue. Although our country provides aid and support internationally, it’s crucial that our fellow citizens receive the same level of urgency, resources, and relief here at home. At Cadence Coalition, we are committed to offering support where we can, but we need your help to ensure this region gets the visibility and resources it so desperately needs. By sharing this message, you can help us spread awareness, raise the profile of this crisis, and push for the necessary relief to reach North Carolina. 🔗 Please take a moment to review the photos of the devastation, and visit platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to hear directly from the residents. Together, we can help bring much-needed aid to the people of North Carolina. Let’s ensure no one is left behind. 🌍❤️ #HurricaneHelene #DisasterRelief #NorthCarolinaStrong #CommunitySupport #HumanityFirst #ShareForAwareness #CadenceCares
🚨Urgent Help Needed for Hurricane Helene Survivors🚨 Hurricane Helene has devastated large parts of the Southeast, including South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Ohio. Entire communities in NW North Carolina have been wiped out, leaving residents without basic necessities—shelter, food, water—and cut off due to impassable roads, no cell service, and no power, particularly in the mountainous regions who are trapped. Tragically, over 10 people have lost their lives, and approximately 1,000 are still unaccounted for in Buncombe County (ABC 13 News). Despite the enormity of this disaster, it has not received the media attention or government relief it desperately needs. First responders are overwhelmed. Areas like Chimney Rock and Black Rock, just 30 minutes from Asheville, NC, are completely wiped out. Social media is flooded with heartbreaking before-and-after images—please take a moment to see for yourself. There’s hope, local organizations are stepping up to help. I’ve personally connected with Folk Collaborative ( https://lnkd.in/eX3kC8Ct), a family-run orchard in Appalachia, that has transformed into a vital drop-off hub for necessities. They’re accepting donations like food, bottled water, blankets, hygiene products, diapers, and more. They’re launching the #AppleBins4Appalachia challenge to fill crates with supplies—every crate counts in saving lives. They need help scaling this effort to get supplies to those in need. 👉 How You Can Help: -Donate supplies like fuel, food, and hygiene products. -Volunteer your time if you’re in NC. -Share this post to raise awareness!
