During this event yesterday, one of the interviewers apologized to the other interviewer. Here's why it made me SO proud 🥹. I mentioned the concept of 'wellbeing shaming', and how seemingly innocuous comments like, 'Oh signing off already for the day are we?' can unintentionally damage feelings of psychological safety to prioritize our #MentalHealthAtWork . Here's what happened next. Live in front of close to 100 people, having learned this new education, one of the interviewers admitted to having done this behavior (unintentionally) to the other interviewer in the recent past. They apologized in real time, explaining that they didn't realize how it might have made that person feel, even though it was meant in jest. THAT is accountability. THAT is change!
