ROAM is a collaborative design project between BZDesign, Rochester Institute of Technology, D3 and Goodwill of the Finger Lakes, centered around creating a device for the visually impaired. The original idea came from Goodwill and RIT working through Studio930 at RIT and the LiveAbility Lab and was brought to D3 Engineering and BZD to drive towards a production-ready design. Through rounds of testing and refinement, ROAM is now a working device and going through the final stages in preparation for production investment. Our contributions have been to the feature set, overall product functionality and user experience, and prototype assembly for the beta unit devices. At BZDesign, our mission is to make a meaningful impact through our work by enhancing user experiences and improving lives.
