The Black Women's Congressional Alliance is a professional & social network for Black women who work on and off the Hill
About us
The Black Women’s Congressional Alliance supports over 900 Black women who work in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate. We are challenging the ‘ole boys network’ by building a pipeline of our own. To best serve our country and our community, Black women must be in the room when key policy and messaging decisions are being made, not only for entry-level positions but as top advisors and decision-makers.

Black Women's Congressional Alliance reposted this
WGRG Lobbyist of the Year| Public Speaker| I bring together people, politics, and policy to create legislative victories for my clients & I run/co-founded an organization to support Black women in public service
Recently during the Essence Festival, I had the honor of moderating a panel that delved into the incredible strides made by Black women in television and movie production, law, acting, singing, and other endeavors within the entertainment industry. Attendees received practical advice on how to protect themselves as creators from Courtney Whitaker, Shay M. Lawson, Esq. and Candiace Dillard Bassett. Congresswomen Nikema Williams and Sydney Kamlager spoke passionately about policies they are championing on behalf of artists and how efforts in the arts and public policy can be synergistic. Thanks to the CBC PAC, Rolling Seas Action Fund, and Entergy for such a thoughtful conversation and activations throughout the weekend. Let's continue to celebrate and support the trailblazing Black women who are shaping the culture! #WomenInEntertainment #BlackExcellence #CreativeInnovation #CivicEngagement

🎉 Today, we celebrate a significant milestone for the Black Women's Congressional Alliance (BWCA) as we mark 6 incredible years of impact in the political world! 🌟 Founded on a vision of empowerment and advocacy, BWCA has been a steadfast force, championing the voices and contributions of Black women both on and off Capitol Hill. Our journey over the past 6 years has been marked by resilience, leadership, and a commitment to creating meaningful change. We owe immense gratitude to our visionary co-founders whose unwavering dedication has paved the way for BWCA to flourish as a beacon of support and solidarity. Their foresight has not only created a safe space but also a platform for Black women in DC and beyond to thrive and lead. As we commemorate this anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to amplifying the voices of Black women in the political arena, advocating for policies that advance equity and justice, and continuing to build bridges that connect us all. Here's to celebrating 6 years of BWCA and to the many more years ahead of collective action, impact, and progress. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Together, we have achieved milestones, broken barriers, and fostered a community that uplifts and empowers. Today marks #BlackWomensEqualPayDay, highlighting the 67-cent wage gap that Black women face compared to non-Hispanic white men for full-time, year-round work. This gap underscores the systemic economic inequality that Black women face every day. We must advocate for policies that protect voting rights and empower Black women to demand equal pay for equal work. #BlackWomenCantWait
